Dear Jennifer:

Ever wonder what happens when Madame Tussaud’s wax snaps? There are five repair artists in charge of touching up nearly 200 wax figures every morning when visitors get too handsy. Think emergency paramedic, these specialists work full time to make sure Tussaud’s figures remain picture perfect like the celebrities made in their likeness.

Every 7 am, Tussaud’s repair team makes their rounds before visitors role in at their Times Square location. Equipped with spare wax ears, paint, clay, and makeup, they inspect every figure from head to toe. If they have dents, their wardrobe tears, or their hair isn’t tousled correctly, figures head to the operation room where they are fixed for the long day ahead.

Although visitors are advised not to touch the figures, they kiss, hug, and poke. However, repair artists such as Christopher J. Gargiulo, Morfy Gikas, Elly Van Horne don’t mind because more touching means more repairs and also show employees which star is more popular.

I believe a discussion of Madame Tussaud’s behind the scenes action would offer great insight for their visitors. Especially since the school year is approaching and more students will take trips to the museum.

Enclosed is a press release that offers more detail on this subject. If you need additional information, Madame Tussaud’s repair team is available to talk with you.

Thank you, I will call to follow up.

Sincerely,

Emily Santana
